Additional information:
Zoltán Kodaly was one of the most important composers of Hungary. Together with his compatriot Béla Bartók he collected folk songs in the far provinces of his home country, and brought together an impressive and unique collection of folk music, preserving this national heritage for posterity. It is no surprise that Kodaly, just like Bartok, was inspired by Hungarian folk song in his compositions, and many of them are based on these lively, or melancholy music of the Hungarians. Kodaly's style was much more traditional, more rooted in the Romantic Era of Liszt and Brahms, then the more radical Bartók, and his works appeal to a very wide audience. A rare occasion when the two brothers Fischer Iván and Adam Fiscger appear together! Authentic and idiomatic interpretations by these Hungarian maestros of the works of their compatriot Kodaly. Includes Háry János Suite / Dances of Marosszék / Dances of Galánta / Peacock Variations / Psalmus Hungaricus
