Enrique Granados (1867-1916) is one of the first so-called national composers of Spain. Together with his compatriot Isaac Albeniz, he created a new style of pianism in which elements of the Spanish folklore and folksong are embedded.
Granadoss major piano work is the cycle Goyescas , inspired by the romantic paintings of Goya. Equally attractive piano works are shown on this 6-CD containing his complete pianistic output, ranging from charming salon-like pieces, to highly original poetic scenes .
