It is difficult to pigeonhole Fauré, he is such a unique composer, with such a distinguished personal style. One could roughly place him as a Late-Romantic, influenced by Impressionism. His broad flowing melodies are imbedded in increasingly modulatory, chromatic harmonies, creating wonderfully floating athmospheres.
