DvoYáks Ninth Symphony, From the new world , nowadays somehow appeals more to audiences than any of the other 8. Yet at the time they too were highly appreciated. Perhaps these days their nationalistic character has hindered an objective approach.
This set puts the Ninth somewhat more into perspective with recordings of the Fifth, Seventh and Eighth symphonies.
